The rifle platoon consists of platoon headquarters and three rifle squads. Platoon HQ consists of platon leader (Carbine or SMG), platoon sergeant (M1 Rifle or SMG), platoon quide (M1 Rifle or SMG), two runners (M1 rifle). Platoon aidman was on attached duty to each rifle platoon. The rifle squad consists of a squad leader (M1 rifle), two scouts (M1 rifle), an automatic rifle team (automatic rifleman (BAR M1918A2), assistant automatic rifleman (M1 rifle), and ammunition bearer (M1 rifle), five riflemen (one of whom is the alternate antitank grenadier) (M1 rifle), and the assistant squad leader (antitank grenadier) (M1903 rifle).
